Donkey – an animal like a small horse, with long ears.

Equal – the same in size, amount, value, number, level, etc..

Helpful – giving help.

Carry – to hold somebody/something in your hand, arms or on your back while you are moving from one place to another.

Extra – more than is usual, expected, or than exists already.

1. Write the reply to the given statement from the story.

II. Answer the following questions:

(a) How many donkeys are there in the story?

Answer – There are two donkeys in the story.

(b) Whose donkeys were they?

Answer – They were Ram’s donkeys.

(c) How many bags did each donkey carry?

Answer – Each donkey carries three bags.

(d) Did the other donkey help the ill donkey?

Answer – No, the other donkey did not help the ill donkey.

(e) What happened to the ill donkey?

Answer – The ill donkey carries the bags as far as he could and then fell down dead.  

III. Find words in the story which mean the following-
