A True Friend
Additional To Look Into
Rahul and Raj were best friends in Class IV. Rahul excelled in sports but was weak in studies, while Raj was good at both. They often had cycling contests, and Raj usually won. This made Rahul jealous.
As the sports day approached, both were practicing hard. Rahul, unsure if he could win fairly, planned to defeat Raj unfairly. He dug a pit on the race track and covered it with leaves. On race day, Raj fell into the pit and was injured. Rahul won the race, but felt guilty.
Though praised by everyone, Rahul couldn’t sleep due to his guilt. He confessed to the Principal, who appreciated his honesty and advised him to study hard and be a true friend again.
Rahul apologised to Raj, who forgave him. Later, Rahul performed badly in a class test. The Principal warned him to do better. Encouraged by Raj, Rahul worked hard. In the term-end exams, Rahul topped the class, even beating Raj. Raj congratulated him, and they remained best friends ever after.
