B.5. English Summary – Nikki’s Sitter
The story is about two sisters, Nikki and Cara. Nikki dislikes Wednesdays because their mother works late and Cara has to babysit her. They used to be close, but Cara has become bossy and distant. One day, they get locked out of the house and blame each other for losing the key. In the process, they argue and express their frustrations.
Eventually, Nikki remembers that their mom had hidden a key under a stepping-stone with their handprints on it. She finds it and sees Cara crying too. They both realize that being a sister is more important than acting like a babysitter or a baby. They make peace, apologize, and agree to be sisters, not boss or baby. The story ends on a sweet note with them playing checkers again.
Hindi Summary (हिंदी सारांश)

Diary Entries
Group I – Cara’s Diary Entry (Wednesday, 27th August, 9:30 p.m.)
Dear Diary,
Today was a rough day. Nikki and I got locked out of the house and ended up having a big fight. She always acts like I’m bossy and controlling. But what she doesn’t know is that I never even wanted to be a babysitter. I miss when we used to have fun together—playing checkers, blowing bubbles. I guess growing up has changed things for both of us.
But when she found the key under the stepping stone, I realized she still cares. Seeing her cry made me feel bad too. I’m glad we talked and said sorry. We’re not just sitter and kid—we’re sisters, and that’s what really matters. I even asked her to play checkers again. Maybe things will get better from now.

Group II – Nikki’s Diary Entry (Wednesday, 27th August, 9:30 p.m.)
Dear Diary,
Wednesdays used to be the worst. But today, something changed. Cara and I fought again—she locked me out, and I thought she didn’t care. But then I remembered the stepping stone we made with our handprints. I found the spare key there and realized we’d both grown a lot since then.
I saw Cara crying too, and I felt bad. Maybe she doesn’t want to be bossy—maybe she’s just trying her best. I’m glad we apologized and agreed to just be sisters again. No babysitter. No baby. Just two sisters who care.
She even asked me to play checkers. Wednesdays are starting to feel a little better.
