- Read the following paragraph.
My Birthday Gift
Last week, I celebrated my tenth birthday with my friends and parents. I got many beautiful gifts on the occasion. But the gift that I liked the most is a bicycle. It was presented to me by my grandfather. It is a blue coloured bicycle with steel handle. It has a pink basket for keeping my things. Its height is just fine for me. It has two gears also, so it is easy to ride. I ride my new bicycle daily. It is the best birthday gift I have ever got.
- Now write a paragraph on any other birthday gift that you liked [e.g. a wrist watch, a story book, a games CD, a dress, etc.]
My Favourite Birthday Gift
Last month, I celebrated my eleventh birthday with my family and friends. Among all the gifts I received, the one I loved the most was a storybook. It was given to me by my elder sister. The book is a collection of adventure tales with colourful illustrations, and it has a shiny red cover. It’s filled with exciting stories about brave explorers, which I enjoy reading every evening. The best part is that it came with a bookmark that has my name on it. This storybook is the best birthday gift I’ve ever received, and I can’t wait to finish all the stories!

A Visit to the Zoo
Last week, we started from school at 8:00 AM for a zoo outing. About twenty of my friends and two teachers accompanied us. We went there by school bus, reaching the zoo by 9:30 AM. The weather was sunny and pleasant, perfect for the trip. Our teacher bought the tickets, and we saw lions, peacocks, and monkeys. I had hoped to see a giraffe, but there wasn’t one. We had lunch at 1:00 PM near the picnic area, and no one fed or teased the animals, so our teacher didn’t scold anyone. We returned to school by 3:00 PM and enjoyed the visit a lot, learning about different animals.
- Write a paragraph (on similar lines as the previous one) on A Visit to a Circus.
A Visit to a Circus
Last Friday, we went to a circus from our school. We left around 9:00 a.m., with about 30 students and 3 teachers. We travelled by school bus and reached the circus ground by 10:00 a.m. The weather was pleasant, with a cool breeze blowing.
Our teacher bought the tickets, and we entered the big, colourful tent with great excitement. We saw amazing performances—acrobats swinging through the air, jugglers balancing objects, clowns making everyone laugh, and trained animals like dogs, horses, and elephants doing tricks. I had expected to see lions or tigers, but they weren’t part of the show.
At 1:00 p.m., we had lunch in a nearby garden. Most of us had brought packed lunch from home. Everyone followed the rules, and no one teased the animals. Our teachers were pleased with our good behaviour, so no one was scolded.
We returned to school by 4:00 p.m., tired but full of joy. It was a fun and unforgettable visit that we all enjoyed very much.

My best friend’s name is Avinash, and he is twelve years old. We met in school two years ago and have been close ever since. He is tall with short black hair and always wears a bright smile. Avinash is very kind and helps me with my homework when I struggle. We love playing cricket together in the park every evening. He is also funny and makes me laugh with his silly jokes.
