B.1. Have you ever visited a zoo? What makes the visit to the zoo enjoyable? Discuss with your classmates.

Answer – Yes, I have visited a zoo. The elephants, hippopotamus, giraffe, lion, tiger different types of birds like peacock, parrots and different kinds of reptiles like snake and alligator made my visits to the zoo enjoyable. we cannot see these animals normally in real so, getting chance to see them live is really fascinating.

B.3. Answer the following questions briefly.

(i) What does the poet want us to be careful about?

Answer – The poet want us to be careful about what to we say or do when we visit the animals in the zoo.

(ii) Why shouldn’t we make fun of the camel’s hump?

Answer – We shouldn’t make fun of the camel’s hump because he is very proud of its noble bump.

(iii) What does the chimpanzee think of himself?

Answer – The Chimpanzee think of himself that he is wise as you and me.

(iv) What special quality, according to the poem, do penguins have?

Answer – According to the poem, penguins have special quality to understand the remarks made over them by the visitors.

(v) What will happen if we treat the animals well?

Answer – If we treat the animals well, then, they will always welcome us at the zoo.

B.4. The animals in the zoo prepare a poster to be put on the gate outside the zoo. But they have left some blanks in it. Write DO or DON’T in the blanks to give the correct message. Add two instructions of your own to the list.

Answer – If I see some children are teasing animals in the zoo then I will ask them politely not to tease animals as they also can get hurt by impolite words.

(ii) What precautions should the visitors take while moving around the zoo?

Answer – Precautions that the visitor should take while moving around the zoo are –

They should not feed the animals.

They should not throw litter here and there.

They should not hit the animals.

They should not make fun of animals or create mess.

Discuss why we should be kind to all the birds and animals.

Answer – We should always be kind towards all animals and birds because birds and animals can also feel the pain and love. They understand all kind of emotions. Though, they cannot. speak or share their pain but can sense it.
