Introduction
Man takes up a profession in order to earn his livelihood. But very often he is found unhappy with his job. Either he finds no liking for that profession or he cannot cope with the task. Sometimes,_he is thrown out of the job. Sometimes he avails himself of long leave and broods over his condition. Then he tries job after job. A rolling stone gathers no moss. He murders his career. Hence, choice of a profession is the most important thing for everyone.
Defective Choice
Very often man commits great blunder in choosing a profession. It is because he is on look out for a job that can give him fat salary or mammoth income. But he does not take his own ability and aptitude into consideration. The square man joins the round place and the round man joins the square place. Consequently, they prove misfit and get disqualified, another defect is that a man does not settle his that a ma future aim in his boyhood. So, when he comes out into the world and seeks a profession, he is at loss. He cannot make a right choice. So, such a person suffers from the trouble of the wrong choice of profession.
How to choose a profession
One should think of his future choice of profession in his boyhood. Since then he should study himself. He should make self-introspection. He should know his own ability and aptitude. He should know his own likes and dislikes. He should take into consideration his own environment, his own circumstance, his own social position, his own household condition, his own personal problems and his own aspiration. He should realize that only the amount of the possible income is not the criterion. All those points should be duly considered by him. Then only he should settle his future profession. Once, he settles this question he should labour hard to prepare himself for the job. He should try to increase his special efficiency for the profession. This is the right way for choosing a profession.

No doubt that the choice of a profession is an important thing in man’s life. So, everybody should pay due attention to it. Students should think of this question. They may get guidance from their teachers or professors if they like. They should read good books on career-making. Otherwise they will have to repent for the rest of their lives.
